Dr. Vikas Pratap Singh
Associate Professor

I am currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT Uttarakhand, Srinagar Garhwal. My research interests include in-situ earth retaining structures with expertise in soil nailing technique, reinforced earth, analytical and computational modelling of geotechnical structures, reliability-based analysis, and ground improvement techniques. I have more than 13.5 years of post-PhD professional experience in teaching, research, and administration at various reputed Institutes in India such as UPES Dehradun, Thapar University Patiala, NIT Patna, IITRAM Ahmedabad, NIT Uttarakhand and NUST New Delhi. I have guided a number of research-based projects and dissertations at UG and PG levels. I have published several research articles / chapters in refereed international journals, conferences, and books. My major professional outreach includes activities such as reviewing articles for many reputed international journals & conferences, and civil engineering curriculum development for several universities as member of Board of Studies. I am also a Life member of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and Indian Roads Congress (IRC). I welcome young geotechnical engineers for mutually benefiting academic / research collaborations.
