Research Associate Contributed to ongoing research projects of the department on stress analysis using ANSYS/ABAQUS.

Terrain modeling by additive manufacturing using GIS data. Developed a methodology to make terrain models by additive manufacturing using GIS data. Also worked on developing a software tool for obtaining a 3D STL part of a terrain directly from GIS data.
Process planning of multi-fabrication Layered Manufacturing (LM) system called MultiFab MultiFab uses laser, plasma and gas tungsten arc welding based Direct Metal Deposition (DMD). It also incorporates machining for surface finishing operations. PowerMILL and other in-house software are being used for CNC code generation. The process planning incorporates both additive and subtractive processes for each layer. Also worked on surface hardening of a complex 3D part by a High-Power Direct Diode Laser (HPDDL).
