Dr. Hardeep Kumar
Associate Professor

Hardeep Kumar received his B.Sc. degree in Non-Medical from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla in year 2002 and M.Sc. degree in Physics from Guru Nanak Dev University. Amritsar in year 2004. He did Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Delhi in year 2011. He worked on Ni:SiO2 and FeCo:SiO2 granular thin films in Ph.D. thesis work. After completing his Ph.D, Dr. Kumar joined the Institute of Physics, University of Sao Paulo as FAPESP Post-doctoral Fellow. He worked at the University of Sao Paulo for about 2 Years & 9 Months. He joined NIT Uttarakhand as an Assistant Professor in June 2018. Dr. Hardeep has co-supervised one Ph.D. scholar (07/2016-03/2021), and one Ph.D. student has submitted his thesis in August 2024. One Ph.D student is currently working on magnetic thin films & Spintronics. Dr. Kumar has completed two research projects (2016-19, 2020-23) sponsored by UGC-DAE CSR, Indore. His research interests are magnetic heterostructures for spintronics applications; role of ion beams in tailoring the physical properties, and thin films for hydrogen sensing and storage applications.
